Unregister/unlock Adobe Flash files
« on: October 31, 2011, 12:33:04 PM »
When one has trouble installing a new or an old version of Adobe Flash then one can try to the following thing. It unregisters/unlocks an important Flash file.

regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\Macromed\Flash\XXXXX.ocx

The XXXXXX should be substituted by the name of the file to be unregistered/unlocked. My experience was that in that folder there were 4 files of which 3 could simply be deleted but the 4th needed to unlocked/unregistered with this ""secret formula"". I think this ""secret formula"" can also unlock/unregister other files that need to be wiped. Of course, one needs to know where those files are located.
