My missing .cat and .mum files
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:56:50 PM »
Hello there. I have run the tweaking pre scan and I have attached the missing files that it found. I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 if that is something you need to know.

Thanks for any help and have a nice one!

When there are that many reported as corrupt and Intel is being used, it has been found that downloading the chipset drivers has resolved.

However, I once had over 2,000 reported as corrupt and as mine uses AMD, I ran a command prompt as an administrator and entered these cmds - you can copy & paste them to the cmd prompt -

net stop cryptsvc

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old

net start cryptsvc

shutdown /r /t 00

Run the Pre-Scan again after the reboot to see if it still reports any corruption.

Hey there Boggin, thanks for the help. I entered those command in the prompt as an administrator and performed another pre-scan. Still gives me the same files that are corrupted.

Are you using Intel ?

When there are that many then something else is amiss and it wouldn't be practical for Julian to dig out that many to upload - even if he had the time from his day job.

Run WSUS Offline Update to see what that finds to download.
