[REQ] DHCP Settings
« on: February 28, 2013, 08:19:23 AM »
Hi,

First of all thanks for the great software.

It has allready helped my a couple of times but i have one problem with it.

Its resetting my IP settings from static to DHCP.

Is it possible to have a checkbox or a way to disable resetting the IP adress?

Thanks in advance.

Grz. ArcticG

It is the repair winsock one that is doing it. It calls the reset tcp/ip command in Windows which clears that out.

I have made tools to work with static Ips on a system
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-static-ip

But the problem comes down to the number of network on the system. I would have to make it to where it looked at each network connection and check if it is set to static, if it is save the info then reapply it after.

I can see this being important as an example I have a customer who has a domain controller setup. If I was to run the repair tool on the server and it cleared the IP then it would be a pain putting it back if i didnt know what the static info was before hand.

I will see what i can do about this :-)
