Title: A program that lists all USB devices connected to your computer
Post by: Tomas_Sweden on March 13, 2014, 06:01:06 AM
USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used.
USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer, as well as to disable and enable USB devices.

That is a handy tool. I will sticky this one as I can see a lot of users with usb devices who need to truly remove them in order to reinstall them properly :-)

A long time ago Microsoft released example code for a neat utility called USBView
It allowed you to view all the USB hardware and any USB devices connected to your computer
The example code is still included in the current Windows Software Development Kit (SDK)
But the supplied code has never been updated to include any newer hardware (such as USB3)

A programmer in Germany has now taken this code and updated and enhanced the utility
It is released as Freeware and is still being updated

It now supports USBv3 - plus it has versions for both 32bit and 64bits Windows
A very neat and much enhanced utility - now called USBTreeView

Read about it here:  http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html
