Title: Getting Error on Fresh Install of Windows 10
Post by: madhouserevival on September 10, 2017, 08:17:16 am
That script you wrote me Set Always Run as Admin gave me this error:

I know it's an old program but it is very handy when it does work. :)

Thanks!

I would suggest that you reinstall Win 10 and don't apply that script if that is what you have done.

It was created for me by the owner of this very website.    I'll include an attachment of the original file so you can see how it works though you can also download it directly from here, too.

It may not apply to Win 10 if it's that old.

I'll ask Shane if it needs updating and if that it why it's producing the error.

Are you able to do anything on the machine since applying that script ?

I haven't had a look at it.

Oh, I've used in on Windows 10 before though this OS gave me endless problems with software all the time (won't let me start Process Lasso with Windows, for instance). I was hoping it got better which is why I installed it again.  :undecided: Shane actually made a new version in case the old one was incompatible. I'll have to hunt that one down. Thanks.

I've sent him an email with a link to your thread regarding compatibility, but will have to wait for a reply.

It sounds like a compatibility problem.

It isn't really wise to run everything as an admin as that can make your computer vulnerable if an infection gets in - that is why you have an UAC.
