Program & Site Requests / Fix/Backup and Restore MBR?
« on: September 21, 2016, 07:50:01 AM »
I think a nice repair to add would be a repair to fix the MBR using bootrec.exe, as well as an option to backup and restore the MBR. I'm thinking this should be in it's own section, seperate from the other repairs, since it's only needed in very special cases. One issue would be that it would HAVE to be run from a usb drive or something similar, for obvious reasons. Does that sound feasible?

Computer Help / Windows 10 inaccessible boot device error on startup
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:07:50 PM »
Hello! First thing to saym it's my fault and most likely not the fault of a virus. I honestly don't know what I did, but my windows 10 boots up to BSOD error Inaccessible boot device, and nothing I've tried has helped. I dual-boot with linux, but it broke later, so that is doubtfully the cause. I can boot up linux and cd/dvds normally, it's just windows. Using the windows built in recovery options using the win 10 recovery cd, I used to be able to boot into windows using system restore, but I would have to it every time (to be clear, it didn't always do that, and as soon as it did I tried to fix it), but windows of course decided to delete all my restore points, ans startup repair was unable to fix it, and I can't get into the advanced boot options menu (i.e safe mode plus oher stuff), even using cmd prompt to enable it. Chkdsk and SFC don't work, and Dism didn't work properly even when I could boot up usig system restore, and I haven't made backups since I only recently installed windows 10. The reset windows option fails at about 30% and "updating" using the installation media disk reqires me to boot into windows. The only time I managed to access the advanced boot menu, safe mode crashed as well. As far as I can tell, my only option left is to completely reinstall windows 10 from scratch, which is inconvenient as I do not have many personal files, and no irreplaceable one I can't move, but is still a last resort. Is there anything I can do to fix it, aside from complete data-destroying reinstall? Sorry if this is a tall order, but I tried essentially everything I could think of, and I'm understanbly a bit annoyed. Thanks in advance!

Computer Help / (Solved)Nvidia device not compatible with windows 10
« on: March 17, 2016, 10:58:07 AM »
Hello everyone! I was running the media creation tool to install windows 10, and it told me my graphics devixe was not compatible with windows 10. My device is Nvidia Geforce 7050, which is EOL, so it makes sense hat it wouldn't work right. Would installig windows 10 still work? I don't play any games on that computer anyway, so all I want for the graphics is that I can use the comouter normally. Is there any way I could do that without buying a new graphics card, or would the graphics not work correctly? Thanks in advance!

Computer Help / Windows 7 laptop wifi connecion issue
« on: February 08, 2016, 07:50:03 AM »
Hello! I recently moved, and I am experiencing difficulty with wirelessly connecting to the internet on my laptop only. Sometimes when the computer turns on, it will take a minute or two to conect to the network automatically. If I try to connect manually, it usually says something along the lines of "Issues connecting to network". I tried the troubleshooter, and it told me it found problems it couldn't repair. I have run windows repair, as well as complete internet repair, and they did not help. The network also doesn't like to reconnect after going to sleep. It has so far always joined eventually, but I have never had these problems before. It has also disconnected me while I was using it for no appearent reason. I have other mobile devices that connect wirelessly, and they do not appear to have these problems. Does anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it? Plugging the laptop into the modem with an ethernet cable is not an option right now. Thanks in advance!

Computer Help / Computer not booting confirmed working USB
« on: December 25, 2015, 09:19:13 AM »
Hello all! I'm trying to run a bootable USB on my windows 7 emachines, and when I select it as a boot option it gives me a blank screen with a flashing line that looks like it's awaiting input, like in command prompt. If I click anything, it makes a beeping noise (From computer itself, not plugged into speakers) and if I hit Ctrl alt delete it reboots. The USB is confirmed to work on other computers. I have done a proper power reset, and I have run Windows repair in safe mode. I have not checked, but I am almost positive I have BIOS and not UEFI. What can I do? P.S Merry Christmas! :cheesy:

Conveniently, I had just run CHKDSK earlier with no problems found, after BSOD I checked and it found many errors, and I am currently running a virus scan, and afterwards I'll reboot to fix the errors. Any idea what caused it, and if it may be a bad sign, or just a random meaningless error? Also, I would like to know how to read dmp files, preferably without installing anything if possible.  Thanks in advance!

Computer Help / SFC errors (again)
« on: August 18, 2015, 01:13:48 PM »
I am having some issues with SFC. I ran it and it said it found corruptions it couldn't repair. I then ran SFCfix, it said it found 8 corruptions, and fixed 4. I unfortunately ran SFCfix again, and it wrote over the log with details of the errors, the new log does not have the info of the errors themselves. What should I do? Windows 7 64-bit home premium.

Computer Help / (SOLVED)Windows update updates not installing
« on: August 04, 2015, 05:11:59 PM »
Unfortunately, my computer is having issues installing 2 windows updates, they are KB3065987 and KB3035583. When I try to install them, the install fails and produces an error message, a different one for each. The errors are 8007371B and 80004005, but I do not know which update had which error. I ran all the repairs in Windows Repair in Safe Mode, I used the official Windows Update troubleshooter and a Windows Update hotfix from Microsoft and none of them work. Help? I am on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

Computer Help / (solved)SFC found files it couldn't repair
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:35:05 PM »
While having some very minor computer problems, I ran SFC and I forget the exact wording, but it mentioned it couldn't repair some files. At request, I can check the log at give you the file info for the broken ones. I checked with find... and found 8 problems. Is there any way you can help? I am on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. Update: I checked the files, and they were 4 copies of and 4 copies of telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json . I forgot to check the date, put I'm pretty sure those are repeats from when I ran SFC before.

Computer Help / (Mostly solved)Windows update missing files.
« on: July 16, 2015, 01:35:17 PM »
Hello! I've been having various issues with windows update, so I ran Windows repair, and the pre-scan said that 6 files associated with windows update were missing. I ran SFC and it said it couldn't fix it. I ran windows repair for windows update and important services twice, once after a reboot, and the problem was still there. I have a windows 7 SP1 home premium. Pre-scan log is as follows: - Windows Repair v3.2.5 - Pre-Scan
Computer: ANGELICA-PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1) (64-bit)

Scanning Windows Packages Files.

These Files Are Missing: (Total: 6)

Problems were found with the packages files, these files need to be replaced (These mainly only effect installing Windows Updates.)
The SFC (System File Checker) doesn't scan and replace some of these files, so you may need to replace them manually.
These files do not keep the repairs from working, you may still run the repairs in the program.

If you need help in replacing these files, post on the Forums at for help.

Scan Complete - Problems Found!

You can use the Repair Reparse Points or Repair Environment Variables tools at the bottom of this Window if needed.

While problems have been found, you can still run the repairs in the program.
But for the best results it is recommended to fix the problems reported in this scan if possible.
If you need help fixing any of the items in the log, just post in the forums at for help.

Any help would be appreciated!
