General Computer Support / Cannot sign in to Windows 10 account
« on: June 15, 2017, 11:11:51 am »
I am unable to sign to my MS account in Windows 10 and --- I having to use my limited unfamiliar Administrator local account or my Android device. I suspect something in the signin procedure was damaged by my use of an aggressive uninstaller..  The problem is only with my computer, as online I can signin to my Windows account and Outlook.mail  etc. After 7 attempts I have so far failed to get it sorted out by MS  Support techs, mainly because I keep getting cut off prematurely for a variety of reasons, such as updates arriving.

I would welcome any advice on how to get back into my account.

A few weeks go all sound disappeared from my Windows 10 2-in-1 Tabllt: speakers, microphone, system. All the usual fixes have been tried, such as updating / rolling back drivers. Every audio app, such as Groove, report that they cannot play. Microsoft technicians were unable to fix it, via Chat, and suggested I do a fresh re-install, which I only accpted because it was said it would also deal with the November update bug. It solved that, but did nothing for the sound, including not being able to activate Cortana, though search is OK.

I get notifications such as Windows audio End Point Server, at least one of two services isn't running.  The error code from Groove is OxOOd36fa

I would welcome advice on how to get the sound services back

General Computer Support / Hardware loss after drivers update
« on: December 24, 2015, 08:27:16 am »
Following a notification that I had a number of drivers which were 'very old' I updated them.

As a result I have lost the following hardware, which are not detected as being installed:

 1. The battery --- there is no battery power
 2. Sound ---- there are no audio devices
 3. The webcams --- no camera or video devices are detected

What must I do to get them back?

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Questions following Repair download
« on: December 20, 2015, 06:36:23 am »
I have just downloaded Repair, so that it will be available if / when I need to use it. Having read the advice I have a few questions.

I presume it is not relevant to the major issue some of us are having with the Windows 10 (mainly) Microsoft Store apps failing to work.  I have posted on the sticky about this.

I am not able to get into Safe Safe Mode with Network. I have tried several times. I could not do this before I upgraded from Windows 8.1 either.

Regarding advice to remove the battery. I have a 2-in-1 Tablet. I believe removing the battery from these is not a practical proposition for non-techies.
