Feedback & Suggestions / suggestion
« on: March 19, 2015, 11:15:50 pm »
Hi Shane
I suggest to add a repair function to Windows Repair (All in One): a fix for security center that does not detect A.V and\or firewall a fix that I found here: https://forum.avast.com/?topic=23457.0
Best regards
E.Peer

Should be fine

Glad the format did the trick :-)

Shane
So should I live it logical?

Formatting is safer.

Shane
Hi Shane thank you for your help, I reformatted D and it is usable again, no thanks to perfect disk that made the whole hassle possible.
Another thing, since I added an extra HD I set it to logical is that ok? or should it be changed to primary to work  the most efficient way?

That is what is odd. The C: and D: are the same drive and C: is fine. A reformat of D: would redo the file system, worth a shot.

Shane
Will repartitioning do the same as reformating D?

Are you able to copy files off of D:?

If you can get the data off then I say move the data and format the D: partition. Have it do a normal format and not a quick format.

Shane
Well, after quite a while, it replaced bad clusters, I guess I`ll leave it to work as long as it takes to do the job.

If I repartition D, will I get the same outcome or will I stay with the issue?

OK let me know how it goes after that

Shane
Unfortunately the same outcome, it gets to 99% and then stops. Should I wait  for a while and may be it will keep on with the job?

You may have bad sectors then.

You need to try it while not in Windows. Do you know how to do that?

Shane
That it is when I did it, while not in windows, right now I`m trying as per your suggestion :through CMD

Did you check it for bad sectors yet?

Open a cmd window and put in

chkdsk D: /f /r

Shane
When I do that it stops at step 4 at 99% and freezes.

Copy or move files. Sorry been a busy day, should have worded that better lol

When I said use it I meant the partition.

Shane
I can use D partition if I do not boot as well, the only thing is that I `m not able to copy/move files to that partition but I`m able to move files out. Also please note that I did a Samsung Es Tool check, and the disk  passed all the tests.

Possible, after you reboot are you able to use it then?

Shane
To use what?

Says here that it is almost always because of hardware problems.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314093

Is the D: drive a partition on the same drive as C: or is a drive by itself?

Shane
On the same drive as C and no problems there. I think that the fact that it started to happen right after Perfect disk defragmented the D drive has something to to do with it.

"Delayed Write Failed" and get the freeze. Please help.Thanks.

Then I`d limit the ability to restore in this program to say 24 hrs from last change.

Can't really do that either. What happens when say someone runs the tweaks, and then leaves for a few days before they have a chance to try them out. So their system is off. They come back want to restore but the program wont let them.

When it comes down to it you can only do so much. From that point it is up to the user. And most users who actually read things first and normally safe. It is the users who dont read a think and just click ok to everything they see that have the most trouble lol

Shane
I agree with you, but bearing in mind that those who do not read before they download a program and use it pressing every single button without reading are exactly the same that write bad reviews about programs in any platform possible and make the most damage to the one who worked so hard on a program. I`d point out emphasized warnings somewhere, as to how your programs should be wisely and most effectively used.

The only draw back is if a user comes back weeks later and does a restore. It can really mess things up if they have made a lot of changes to the system since then.

Shane

Hi Shane
Simple system tweaker suggestions:
1.IMHO I think that in the Simple system tweaker program should be pointed out that backing up the registry before tweaking, in fact enables the option to roll back the tweaks made, not so sure that the average user understands that.
2.Adding an option to roll back to windows defaults.

Hi Shane
Trying to back up with the program it shows that Win xp sp3 shadow copy does not work and the program shows that it uses fallback method instead. Please see the attached Win`s error, is there anything I can do to activate the shadow copy? Thanks.
