I always used windows defender and pretty much this article sums it up.

https://it.slashdot.org/story/17/02/01/1334219/google-chrome-engineer-says-windows-defender-the-only-well-behaved-antivirus-cites-tons-of-empirical-data

Feel free to leave your comments I enjoy reading the different opinions of antivirus programs.

General Computer Support / Repairing broken apps in Windows 10 Bug.
« on: December 10, 2015, 06:22:56 pm »
EDIT: in windows 10 Version 10.0.10586.318 the Powershell command works!!! Finally Microsoft fixed it! So that means the next version of windows repair will have it back on  :cheesy:

Currently in Windows 10 (1511) 10.0.10586 Powershell is having issues with this command it is a bug that is affecting and deleting apps Shane already removed the command from running when it checks which version of windows you are running. This bug is only known to be on windows 10 with the newly released update.

Here is the command That is causing this issue please be weary when running this command I recommend not running this until there is a patch for it.
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
I'll be updating this when I know for sure Microsoft notices that there is a bug in the "Get-appXPackge" and patches Window's 10 so that this issue no longer exist's
here are the snapshot's of what it looks like.
(side note this command is a built in command to Windows)

General Computer Support / Please read about Shane and reparse.
« on: August 13, 2015, 08:08:39 pm »
So Shane is at it again with a major update this one involves the registry repair he has been up for 3-4 days now fine tuning and programming.

 If in 3.4.1 you noticed 3 reparse points and it won't fix it this is a bug and Shane has that fixed in his next Windows repair 3.4.2. you can go ahead and ignore those 3 keys. it should not effect your system it's just a bug.

Shane should be back soon he never forgets about us ;)

Thanks,
Julian

General Computer Support / pc settings in windows 8.1
« on: July 09, 2015, 10:25:48 am »
Alright this is my first post ever for asking for help  :wink: I'm not looking for help really I just need clarification.
So I used to like windows 8.1 till yesterday. after a nasty malware infected my sisters computer I Cleaned it up perfectly then after all the cleanups I ran the repair tool and fixed the corrupted .cat and .mum files and then I faced the chkdsk it pulled orphaned files and corrupted the ntuser.dat now i'm usually good at fixing corrupted profiles but this one was a pain in my you know what. so long story short i had to activate admin account and recreate a new profile. the pc settings was not opening it would open then minimize and just hang there I ran the repair tool twice. in safe mode still it acted up pc settings would just minimize. so i opened cmd  made a profile with these two commands
Code: [Select]
net user /add temp
Code: [Select]
net localgroup administrators /add temp I wanted to see if another account would do the same thing and sure enough it did. so I was stumped i needed pc settings to work. So I started to think and looked at each individual repairs on the repair program and unchecked all repairs and check marked just 2 repairs. (28.02) repair windows 8 app store (completely reset app store)  and repair 29 repair windows 8 component store. and it fixed the issue but just with that user. Now here is what i need clarification on obviously i need to run these two repairs at the moment on each user but is there a permanent solution to where this issue no longer occurs?

Os= windows 8.1 x64 version 6.3 (build 9600)

And I would watch the stats of the connection info as IE is loading the page and when it finish's I get redirected to start a new topic and it's blank I'm not sure if the server is giving me a rest packet and not completing the forum post or what...
uploaded a picture of the connection info

Feedback & Suggestions / System Restore Beta
« on: June 05, 2015, 04:31:22 pm »
First off I just want to say thank you for making an amazing all in one program. I showed my support by purchasing it thanks again  :cheesy:

Now on topic, I had a computer that had a system restore that was failing to turn on. I ran the beta system restore restarted the computer and it allowed the program to turn on. unfortunately it would say "Local Disk (C:/) (Missing OS)". When I went to configure the max usage on it no matter how much I moved the slider it would remain at 0 bytes. After about 5 minutes of thinking I disabled system restore on local disk (C:/) (Missing OS), restarted computer, and perfect. Now  system restore displayed Local Disk (C:) (System) the protection was off I went to (configure) and enabled (Restore system settings and previous versions of files). After applying settings I ran windows repair all in one and did a back up with system restore and it worked like a charm.  :smiley:
