OI! I was busy, I ran the repairs once but I had to do something else, and now a new version is released! I don't know if I'm happy or annoyed :/ Ok I'm now rerunning the repairs.

Well should I delete the old log, because the SFC log is inside of the CBS log. Is there any way to seperate the SFC log from the CBS? Because unless I am very mistaken, deleting the CBS log is not a good idea. But on another note, unless it recorrupted (again) I do not think I have any SFC errors. Should I run it again anyway?

Ugh. The installation finished, no errors detected. That means it probably didn't fix my problems. Reinstalling updates just to be safe.

Yeah I googled it, but it wasn't in there. I am reinstalling the hotfix for sur, and the folder is there now, but no useful information in it yet because it hasn't finished.

Sigh It's never simple, is it? KB3035583 now gives me error 8007371B instead of the other one.

OK, I will do that. Also, I ran the Windows Update Diagnostic, and it said I have error 0x8007371B(2015-08-05-T-04_31_02P)

I do not know much about error messages, but the first part I think was one of the errors Windows Update gave me. As soon as I try to reinstall the updates separately, I will supply you the codes for the updates.
UPDATE: The update KB3035583 gave me error 80070002. Now investigating the next one.

AArgh I ran the SFC and it said that files were corrupted again! The Windows Update must be corrupting them when it fails to install. I reran the repair from the other forum, and am rerunning the SFC. I sure hope this works now.

Well I'm considering it, but I want to see a compatibility report first at least. It's annoying though because the windows 10 icon isn't there, even though I have a compatible OS, and I'm kinda hoping this update will fix that. And I will do a chkdsk scan, just as soon as the SFC is done.

Just did that yesterday :/ It found files it couldn't fix, and someone on this forum helped me fix them. Think I should run a SFC again to be sure? And then if it is sure, should I rerun windows repair (in safemode) with all the repairs plus prescan, and try the windows update trouble shooter again and hope for the best? Because I do really want to update. And plus I have nothing better to do anyway for now.

Yes I do have SP1,  but I already ran this. I can try again when I have a free moment, but I do not think it will help any.

General Computer Support / (SOLVED)Windows update updates not installing
« on: August 04, 2015, 05:11:59 pm »
Unfortunately, my computer is having issues installing 2 windows updates, they are KB3065987 and KB3035583. When I try to install them, the install fails and produces an error message, a different one for each. The errors are 8007371B and 80004005, but I do not know which update had which error. I ran all the repairs in Windows Repair in Safe Mode, I used the official Windows Update troubleshooter and a Windows Update hotfix from Microsoft and none of them work. Help? I am on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

General Computer Support / (solved)SFC found files it couldn't repair
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:35:05 pm »
While having some very minor computer problems, I ran SFC and I forget the exact wording, but it mentioned it couldn't repair some files. At request, I can check the log at give you the file info for the broken ones. I checked with find... and found 8 problems. Is there any way you can help? I am on 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. Update: I checked the files, and they were 4 copies of utc.app.json and 4 copies of telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json . I forgot to check the date, put I'm pretty sure those are repeats from when I ran SFC before.

Thanks! It worked completely and fixed everything, no problems found. Also should I run ALL repairs, or just exclude some of them like fix Windows 8 store (I'm on 7) and unhide nonsystem files? Also my registry backup isn't working, it just says it failed and with and gives me two options, close the backup windows or view folder. It does that whether or not I'm using VSS. Do you need the backup_info.txt or Log_Backup.txt?

I'm sorry, but when I run the reg file by double clicking, it just opens it up as text? How do you fix that? Thanks for the help so far btw.
