UAC asked for permission to run the EXE

OK good, make sure to extra the exe file first completely. Then right click on the exe and choose run as administrator.

(I want to cover all bases)

It shows as installed in CTRL PNL, I typed gadgets in Start, I get the same empty background as before

Security is set to "Everyone" I created a gadgets shortcut on the desktop and changed its security to everyone ---nothing yet

it was for my user name

Those were the 3 permissions, I added everyone, which is what your utility added to everything - a lifesaver for my week-long struggle to install Adobe CS6 on my system!

Then it must not be a permissions problem.

If we just had some sort of error to work with it would help a ton lol

I wonder what runtime files the sidebar needs, like .net or something.
