So it is the first time that I've run Windows Repair and the first 2 jobs didn't seem to take too long (didn't run the Reset File Permissions). But the "Register System Files - Current User Account" is still working after 10+ hours (the CPU Usage is minor but still regular).

What's the worst-case scenario if I hit "Stop Repairs" now? After the Current User Account is done and before the System Account job starts?

Any assistance/recommendations would be very gratefully received.

Thanks,

Mike

Is the cmd.exe window open when the repair is running or is it not showing?

I helped to other people who had the same problem.

2 different issues.

The first one was a vista issue where the run as system exe of mine crashes in that vista for some reason and so the repairs dont start.

The other system was windows 7 and the repairs didnt start because the user name had & in it and when the & is in the path the cmd.exe doesnt play nice with it. So I think in the next update I will have to use the windows temp folder instead.

On the system you are on, what version of windows? And what is the username? Does it have any odd characters in it?

The cmd.exe window seems to have closed. Any recommended action?

The user name is Gamer - no special characters.

Still running...BTW, thanks for your help.

If the cmd.exe is open then close the program because it isnt doing anything.

You never told me what version of windows you are on.

My mistake; Windows 7 Pro v6.1 64-bit

I have de-activated the AV & the Firewall and there are no other apps running but the CPU usage meter is still showing signs of activity.

Thanks.

Sounds like yours might be different. I just got home and I have started working on the program, now would be a great time for me to connect to you and see if I can find if you have a different reason why the repair isnt running.

Send me an email
