Problems with Windows Firewall
« on: September 06, 2012, 05:36:21 pm »

I am having problems with my windows firewall:
I try to follow instructions on a variety of help menus, such as:

Windows Firewall:

1. Click Start and select Control Panel.
2. Select Security Center.
3. Click Windows Firewall.
4. Ensure the Firewall is set to On (recommended).
5. Click the Exceptions tab.
6. Click the Add Program button.
7. Locate and select RealPlayer.
8. Click OK.
9. Ensure that RealPlayer is in the Programs and Services column and the box is checked.
10. Click OK.

Problem is, there are no steps available on my screen after step 4.

Whenever I try to get firewall to use recommended settings, I get error message:

Windows Firewall can’t change some of your settings. Error Code Ox80070424

I already uninstalled Lavasoft Ad Aware app., so that is not the problem. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. Any ideas?

Try this :-)

http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

Run the Repair WMI and Repair Windows firewall repairs, reboot and see if the firewall still gives you that error
