Envelope Printer Not Aligning Properly
« on: May 06, 2017, 05:28:38 pm »
Hello!

I am having the same issue as the person in this thread:
http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php/topic,5225.msg38372.html#msg38372

I couldn't find a reply button so I made a new thread.

It is printing every envelope almost entirely off of the envelope, only the last line is showing up at the top right of the envelope.
(All of the text is too far up and too far right.)

When I try printing onto a full piece of paper, everything is aligned properly with recipient address in the middle and sender address on the top left.

I am on Windows 10 and my printer is a Brother HL5470DW, printing from the manual feed tray with the sliders that center the envelope.

I LOVE this software and am hoping this issue gets resolved.

thx
efa

My best guess here is it is printer driver related - not program related.

That is hard to diagnose here.

What I would try is change the position offset. The easier way to do that is to click the "print preview" and double click on the screen somewhere to the left. That will force the address to move where you want it.

Thank you for the reply.
The text is printing so far up and to the right, that there is not enough "left" or "down" space to drag to.
Plus, there is no position offset for Sender Address in the drop-down, so it is still off the page.
About 3 inches up and 5 inches right of where it should be.
 :shy:

I normally chalk things up to User Error, but I am not the only one reporting this issue.
If anyone can think of anything else I can try, please let me know.
I would LOVE to use this software.
It would enhance my life.

Have you tried experimenting with different size envelopes onto A4 to see where it prints ?

I'm trying to duplicate it and I can't.

The program is 100% reliant on the print drivers. Look though your print setting and make sure there isn;t something goofy selected - like scaling or "fit to print"/

Another thought is that your printer is  to drop down on the envelopes that you are using and instead of say Printer Supported #10 use Custom #10. See if that works.

per ashkinos:

PROBLEM: Addresses were printing way off target.

SOLUTION:
PostScript functionality is not included in my default (Brother) printer driver.
I had to go to the support page for my printer and install a second (PS emulator) driver to use when printing envelopes.

Thank you SO much for your help.
This software will help me for the rest of my life...so...yeah.
THANKS!
