Need a few more details in how you are trying to update and if you are getting a fail error code.

You can manually update by performing a similar process to a repair install with Win 10 install media or you can use the Update now button at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

You can also use that website to create the latest Win 10 install media, but read the instructions first as the procedure differs for DVD and USB.

You can manually update with the install media by opening Windows Explorer - This PC - insert the install media and double click on its drive.

If using a DVD then that should start the process but if using an USB, that will open to the files where you would double click on setup Application.

It may be that your drivers need updating or your antivirus program is getting in the way.

Go into Device Manager/View/Show hidden devices and work your way through System Devices by right clicking on each and selecting Update Driver.

Your graphics driver may also need updating and you can disable your AV program prior to trying the update.

I did everything you said, but installation failed.

All drivers are updated. Uses only Malawarebytes free, which does´nt interfer.

What now?

Can you go Start and start to type reliability and press enter when View reliability history comes up to see what that reports on the days that the update has failed.

Clicking the blue tech details will produce a bit more info.

Event Viewer may also have something recorded with a date and time stamp for when the update failed - I'm looking for an error code for the update fail, although you don't always get one when a major update fails.

When Event Viewer opens, ensure Event Viewer (Local) is highlighted in the left pane - if it isn't then just click on it.

When it has read the data, click on Error and then on View All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane then clicking on any of them will produce a bit more info in the pane below.

Any that you think are relevant can be pasted into your reply box by clicking on Copy/Copy details as text in the lower right pane, then right click in the reply box and select Paste.

Can you right click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin) and enter these cmds -

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

and let us know what they report.

You can copy and paste the output of a cmd window by right clicking in its text area then click on Select all and press enter.

You then right click in the reply box and select Paste.

You can enter exit to close the cmd window when done.
