(Solved)eventid 7000 service control manager error
« on: April 03, 2018, 05:40:17 am »
Hi, I enclose a error log, which i could not locate to find whether the service is started or not.
The error message
eventid 7000 service control manager
The ScreenCamera Video Camera service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

In services.msc, i could not find the camera service or to that effect .
How to fix this error. Is it related to some third party applications. If so, how to single out and fix it

The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

It's possible that it could be your antivirus program that is blocking it, but go into Device Manager - expand the Camera - right click on it and select Properties - this should give you its status.

Click on the Driver tab and then on Update Driver - you can either have it search online or reinstall the existing driver.

To do the latter, select Browse my computer - Let me pick.. - then click on the driver (there's probably only one) and then on Next where it will install.

Check its status again to see if now reports it is working properly.

Close Device Manager and reboot to see if you still get the Event ID.

Hi, Boggins, Wish to point out that i do not have any camera attached to my pc and i do not find any camera in the device manager. If it is a third party application, how to find which is producing thie error.
I have checked services.msc and there is no camera service and video services
How to find the error making device
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

In that case I would just ignore it.

J, Got ScreenCamera - PCWinSoft installed? A virtual camera for screenshots/ screen recording. If you have and don't use it, then uninstall it

If you had ScreenCamera from PCWinSoft installed in the past and subsequently uninstalled it, then the service may have been left behind after the uninstall, post a list of all services.

That shows started services, "ScreenCamera" failed to start, so show ALL services

NB it may be listed as "ScrCam.exe"

Are you sure that you never installed it? Remember this post that you made?
http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php/topic,4658.msg33875.html#msg33875

As I said, looks like an orphaned service.

Look for "ScreenCamera" and set it to "disabled"

How come I know your PC better than you do?

It's obviously left residue in the registry for it still trying to start the service.

I would install it again and use a 3rd party Uninstaller program to remove it which should also remove it from Services.

GeekUninstaller is my choice, others are available.

It does a good job uninstalling and cleaning up afterwards. It is a free portable application too, so no worries about how to uninstall the uninstaller

Download and run a scan with FreeFixer - http://www.freefixer.com/

Any files it can remove will have a check box next to them.

Most will have their owner listed to the right and you can click on the info button for those you aren't sure of, but if you aren't sure of any then leave them.

While having run Geek Uninstaller, there shouldn't be any residue left - you could run the CCleaner's Registry cleaner, but first uncheck the box for ActiveX and class issues before the scan.

Hi, Boggins and Samson,`both app could not do the thing. It was not listed in free fixer also.
Then i tried a sys internal tool called autoruns.exe.
This tool lists all the things that one want to view,
I downloaded this, by chance, and then ran the tool.
It does not list in services as such, but on drivers tab, i perused and found one item , which on moving the mouse shows the driver is for screen camera and video camera. I think, service control manager not only controls services but also manages drivers. I simply unchecked and reboot. The error has gone and now that is not an issue
Thanks for all the inputs.
I suggest you download autoruns and then check the details to find the issue.
The internet cut at start or restart , is the thing that i will turn my attention.
Thanks for you and samson,
I enclose the print screen for the unchecked driver
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Glad to see that you were able to sort it.

It seems strange that you retained the driver after uninstalling it.

it was not retained by me, it was retained by the program. Even revo uninstaller could not find the connected registry entries. geek uninstall also left it there. By chance,i see this tool and it helped me. There is also a network tab . But it shows nothing. Ok will try

What I meant by you retained it, I meant your machine/Windows retained it.
