I was also going through my services and this one was set to automatic. I changed it to manual. I looked at black vipers site but I still don't have a clear understanding of what it does. Do you?

Chris

Shane:
I would keep it running.

--- Quote ---IPsec is typically configured to use IKE or AuthIP; therefore, stopping or disabling the IKEEXT service might result in an IPsec failure and might compromise the security of the system. It is strongly recommended that you have the IKEEXT service running.

The Windows default for this service is manual.

chris635:
Great thanks. I think it was set to automatic. I'll set to manual then stop it and see what happens.

Chris

Shane:
Odd mine is also set to Auto. Wonder if this is another service MS changed?
