Icons on Win7 Pro black squares of 1 cm
BallyIrish:
I updated Tweaking.com to the latest Beta a few days ago. After a run of the Beta TW.com, some icons of programs on Drive C:\, and always those on the desktop, come up as pitch black squares of 1 centimeter, but turn into proper icons for the program downloaded, or set as shortcuts, when moved to Object Dock, Start Menu or Programs Menu. What could be causing this and what can I do to fix this problem? What the pre-Beta TW.com fixed, TW.com Beta has undone! Thanks.

Here's a good attachment showing exactly what I mean. Comes from program shortcuts deleted to Recycle Bin.
Shane:
Which program is in beta and did you run?
From the looks of those it is the shortcut arrow icon that is now showing. All shortcuts have the arrow icon and you can see it isnt showing.
Do other icons works? Is it just shortcuts that have the black box?

BallyIrish:
Thank you Shane, and Greetings!
As I said, the program in Beta that I ran was Tweaking.com Beta.
It is only shortcuts that come up as black squares, and the matter is not problematic, as the black square changes to the correct icon as soon as it is placed on a dock or menu. But on the desktop it remains a black square, which, oddly enough, opens the relevant program if clicked.
I think I know the answer. It seems that, as I am using a wallpaper from Documents at the moment, and not from Microsoft's themes, Microsoft themes is causing the black square. I'm not sure how to do a fix, but I'll give it a try.
Thanks again and best regards.

I dont have any beta programs out or anything called tweaking.com beta, can you post a link to the page you are talking about? :cheesy:
For now try this tool to just get rid of the arrow icon causing the black square. The guide is for vista but it will work on 7 as well :-)
