my IE8 seems like a cross between 7 and 8

Thanks for the great worked you solved a lot of my problems, I was just wondering if you had any thoughts on this , I have xp with IE8

Not sure what you mean a cross between IE 7 and IE8. IE7 wasn't out long before IE8 and they are still IE so yes they will feel and act very similar :-)

no I know that I mean I had maxi dj virus  and ever since I got rid of it the only thing I have wrong with my pc is that IE is screwed up and to uninstall it and re install it I have to uninstall SP3  is there any other way around this

Ah I see.

Have you checked the installed updates to see if IE is there and can be uninstalled?

Personally I stay away from IE. Have you thought about using Firefox or Chrome instead as well?
