Hi there
Your Windows repair program is fantastic.
I have Windows 8, Pro, 32 bit on our HP laptop.
Since installing W8 - the Bluetooth has never worked.
I have tried re-installing drivers, etc.
I get one error message with reference to Microsoft Stacks - unable to start.
In the Wireless/Bluetooth control window, the Bluetooth is always grayed out.
Any ideas?
regards
Peter

Shane:
Sounds like it is a driver problem, did you find the Windows 8 drivers for the bluetooth for that system?

Is it a store bought system? If so what model and I can see if I can find the drivers.

The HP Laptop is a 2010 model.
We upgraded to Windows 8 - 32 bit, end of last year.
If I go to HP website I can only see drivers for 64 bit W8 ?
I've tried other drivers.
So far no good.
My only reason for trying to use Bluetooth is to make use of the 3 Gig data limit (per month) in my phone - which I don't use. We are travelers (Nomads), on the  road, so any extra wireless BB is handy, on top of our 12 Gig wireless ISP

Shane:
If you have more than 3gb of memory you want 64 bit Windows. The limit of 32 bit is 3gb.

So HP only puts out 64 bit drivers since the system most likely has more than 3gb of ram in it.

I need the exact model and I can see what bluetooth it has and I can find another model with the same one and see if I can find 32 bit drivers

HP Pavilion dv6-2120tx Entertainment Notebook PC
Serial Number:   CNF011BYH6
Product Number:   WF649PA

It has 4 G memory installed.

No one has ever told me to use a 64 bit OS before??
Can I upgrade the Win 8 to 64 bit or is it a big hassle?

thanks
Peter
