Windows 7 home premium update errors 8007005 and 8000ffff
Shane:
No you dont boot off the cd. Read that guide step by step. You start the setup while inside Windows. The repair install is just like an upgrade.

Hello Shane,
Thank you for your help.At last the penny has dropped.I can see what i was doing wrong and i can see where i am going now.I would be very grateful if you can help me with two questions.Windows seven forum tutorial says to click on Run set up.exe.I have only got Run set up.What is the diffrence and can i use it.Do i need to buy an external harddrive and copy all my details to that first before doing the re-install of windows.
Best Wishes and Thanks

Shane:
Your system is set to not show known file extensions. SO setup.exe will only show up as setup.
But that is the right file your looking for

Hello Shane.
Took me a while to build up courage to do it but Windows 7 Home premium is now clean as a whistle. All errors gone.No more windows opening up telling me my copy of 7 is not genuine and the bonus is i never lost any of my files.Everything stayed exactly as it was.(apart from the errors.).I owe you a huge debt of thanks and gratitude Shane. You have taught me an awful lot. Many Thanks for sticking with me and not giving up on me.I wish you and your tremendous site all the very best.Out of all the Experts ie Which Computing,Geeks to go.You were the one who sorted me out.
Best Wishes
