--- Quote ---After every solution I listed, I tried google.com and yahoo.com.
I tried 8.8.8.8 too and it still does not work.

Ok good, I can cross that off the list, was making sure it wasnt DNS related :-)

Ok now in the cmd window do

ipconfig /all

And post a screen shot showing the local Ip info and all that good stuff. Also what is the local Ip of the router?

Shane

williakj2k:
Shane below is the ipconfig output.
The router ip is 192.168.0.1.
Wolverine, it's not a virus the system is clean. I run malwarebytes regularly as well as several other malware programs.

Ashord:
Hello,

Dunno if it can help you, can you open the prompt and write:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

then :

netsh winsock reset all

Reboot after (it will ask you too).

If it's still not working can you try a tracert on 8.8.8.8 ?

Ashord

williakj2k:
Ashord, I've done the ip reset several times -- still no access.
Here is the tracert, though, maybe it will shed some light on what is going on.

Shane:
One way to find out if the problem is with the router for some odd reason or something with the system is to try a different connection.

Is there anyway you might be able to try the computer behind a different router?

If it works behind another router then we know to look at the router for the problem. If it still fails then we know it is something with the system itself

At least this way we know where to focus.

Shane
