Neat Desk 5.4 will not open

I have a win 8.1 desktop and have a neat desk scanner attached but can't get the software to open. It crashes when loading 'a problem cause the program to stop working correctly'. Neat Desk support is worthless. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, run tweaking but still cant get it fixed. Any help would be appreciated   :cry:

Windows repair only helps Windows, it doesnt aim at any programs.

The things to check is to make sure you are running the program as administrator. Also is DEP enabled on your system?

Yes it runs as admin and DEP is enabled

Which option is chosen for DEP?

It was originally on the 1st option and I changed it to the 2nd option but that did not make a difference, windows still will not let the program lunch  :confused:
