Hi Shane

Have you ever set heuristics sensitivity to high in avast? If so, how many false positives?

Chris

Shane:
I never have. And you WILL get a lot more false positives. This is true with any antivirus.

They are trying to detect new unknown viruses. Never works like it should.

Got it thanks.

Hi Shane

Other than avast. Do you run any other real time mal-ware programs for protection?

Chris

Shane:
Nope none.

Proper habits and keeping things up to date is key. Java and flash is how a LOT of today's viruses get in. Always keep them up to date. haven't had a virus or infection in 7 years :-)

I never used outlook express which viruses used a security hole to infect by email (I use thunderbird)

I never used IE which is where a lot of older viruses use to come in (IE 6 was horrible)
