Is my hard drive really failing ... ?

OK ... I got it.  I saw on one report that this hard drive has something like 15,000 hours on it.  I have decided that I will start shopping for a USB HD now, and then a replacement internal HD later.  I will keep you posted when anything changes ...

If the drive in the laptop is a sata drive I can give you a like on newegg for a western digital 7200 rpm 5 year warranty drive, they are around $57 last time I checked :-)
