How DO I get rid of the confounded Ad Choices virus please?

Shane:
What tools have you ran to try and remove it?

Also google pulls up a lot of removal guides for it such as

Hi Shane, how ironic is this,asI was reading your reply here there was an actual AdChoices floating ad running right below your very reply!
So,AdBlockPlus does as it says on the tin & it blocks AdChoices,it doesn't however eradicate the virus at all,I run SuperAntispyware daily & often,Microsoft Essentials Defender is always on in default protection status but that fails to spot AdChoices too.I run Spybot Search & Destroy daily too,Malwarebytes Anti malware,Malware Anti-Rootkit Beta v.1.07.0.1009.I've just done a total & complete Windows repair via Tweaking.comWindows Repair  v2.5.1 (Microsoft XP v5.1 32 bit)
And CIntrepair from http://www.rizonesoft.com/free-downloads/  :undecided:
& Still it remains in my system Shane!!

Shane:
I have been seeing a lot of add ons get installed by programs into firefox, chrome and IE that hijack the page you are on and puts its own ads on the page. Nasty little things and a pain, and none of them get flagged by the scanners because they are add ons and not exe programs.

I have to go and remove them from the browser that has it and it stops.

Cheers fer that Shane,I've ran every conceivable trojan/gremlin killer I can get my hand on but I can Not remove AdChoices from Youtube at all,it's a proper Super Virus mate!   !
