Hi Shane

Under system failure my options will not stay in effect. Is there some registry setting to fix this? Here is the screen shot.

Chris

Shane:
The settings are not holding?

Shane

chris635:
Nope.  Sorry I also so posted this under the welcome screen topic.

Chris

Shane:
Odd, never seen them not hold. They are just reg settings. Wonder if the reg keys dont have the correct permissions?

I'm not sure. What lead me to was the slow boot at the "preparing your desktop". Looking through the event viewer there were several application and system errors. I got them all fixed but volmgr error.
It was under system as volmgr event id 45. the details were "crash dump initialization failed". It happens twice after every reboot. My system runs fine, just trying to fix the error. At first I wasn't sure if was due to small pagefile but upon further research, I find out to fix it I need to have "write an event to the system log" checked off, but it wouldn't take, as well as not being able to have a kernel memory dump. If it's  a registry setting to fix , I don't know what it is
