clicking to open a link from w web browser opens MSWORD ... how to reset?

I also believe there is a virus causing this issue that somehow keeps a record of tracking in MSword...
regardless where I am, a virus is a virus and should not control such key operating systems

it happens when computer starts and click a link from skype. it alsosays can not open link from email, something about policy editor, but that was not set...

Go to the control panel and open default programs. There you can set what program opens when you click what.

What was the link you clicked that opened in word, or does it happen on every link you click?
