Shane:
It could be hardware related or it could be something royaly screwed up in the registry fro the hardware and is what might be causing the problem.

How do you know it isnt hardware related? What test did you do? Normally I would download Ubuntu, boot off the cd and see if USB works in there. Since I can run ubuntu right off the cd without having to install it, it makes it a great test for the hardware with Windows out of the way.

If the hardware is fine then a repair install might be the best best, mainly because if it is that screwed up with the errors you have the and large number of unknown showing up inn the device manager.

Thankfully a repair install is easy to do and you dont lose everything like you do with a fresh install. Some times a repair install may not fix this since a repair install is basiclly doing a upgrade to the same version of windows and a lot of times the drivers and hardware info carry over, but it is worth a shot.

First you will need a Windows 7 with service pack 1 already on it, you can grab a image here if you dont have one

And then just follow this guide

vinnie:
i try the Repair Install to Fix Windows 7 with the service pack 1 but  it  did not work the following error i get
Can not continue with the installation because a required driver could not be installed.

i know the hardware whas working, but then I also saw that usb mass drivers where gone and windows could not install the drivers and also got error messages

Shane:
So the repair install of Windows 7 is trying to install a driver and it is unable to.

If you already ran all the repair in my windows repair tool, then that should take care of permissions. I would boot into safe mode and then go to the device manager. Under view click on show hidden devices.

Then I would go down the list and remove all unknown hardware that is shown. Then under each and every category in the list, I would expand them, hardware that is no longer on the system or windows things isnt will be partially transparent. Remove all that you find. This might take a little bit.

Once done reboot the system and see if that helped any.

vinnie:
I have all the hardware removed unknown and unused hardware and reboot the computer then he finds drivers and a message says ready for use but then i see again unknown hardware and when i use a usb flash drive or usb harddrive and a message says can not find drivers.

Shane:
You might be stuck doing a fresh install after all. Either files are corrupt and missing or something is really screwed up in the registry for Windows not to be able to install normal drivers.

Does the event viewer give any messages about it?
