windows media center

(1/1)

bobbywheel:
Thank you for excellent windows program but unfortunately it did not fix the one thing I was hoping it would do and that is repair my windows media center program. I'm running Windows 7 ultimate and my problem is I can't get my media center to play live tv. It used to work perfectly but now I can only set the timer for it to record tv programs but if I select live tv it says I have a video error. I wonder if you could help me fix this error.

Thank you.

Shane:
None of the repairs target the media center.

But I did have a user who's media center was crashing and wouldn't even start. Turned out it was a corrupt database file that it uses. It might be worth a shot to try it for yours as well.

On your system go to
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome

Backup this folder just in case and then delete everything in it. Normally you only need to delete the .db files, but sometimes you need to remove it all. Then see how media center does. You may need to resetup settings in it, but see how a fresh start does.

If it doesnt work then you can put those files back that you backed up

Have you checked Event Viewer to see if it has recorded anything for this error ?
