Ah so it was at the blue desktop screen you see when windows is logging into the desktop. I have seen that happen only a few times and a reboot gets it going fine again. Since it works after another reboot I never found what causes it and why it is very random and rare that I see it. I think it just happens to do with the userinit.exe which is used to start the startup items and then explorer.exe afterwards.

Funny enough it didn't do it with the last update but did it with the two versions before.

Anything in the event viewer at with a date and time at the same time that was happening? maybe that would give us a clue to why it is doing it.

Go to Device manager. Right click computer to select manage. And then in the left menus, select event viewer. There you get all the logs of events that has taken, when anything fails. Just check the red or exclamated and double click. The event description would reveal what went wrong and on which time. ok
