I could not record song in Audacity.
jraju:
Hi, I am trying to record a song in Audacity. My sound plays well in the speakers, but when i try to connect a mike for recording, then there is no sound or any activity. If i go to the Hard ware and sound section and then check record tab, a mike is shown, but in the right there is no effect, if i read anything in to the mike. Literally my mike is not playing any sound. Other things, like playing video and audio, there is no problem. It is playing correctly How to check the mike in any other way. Please give solution to

Hi jraju,
Did n't you have this problem before? http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php/topic,1138.msg7618.html#msg7618
Do you have the microphone selected as the input source from the dropdown menu? Have you tried increasing the record level for the microphone? By moving the slider control to the right, next to the mic icon.
Samson.
Edit: Added a screenshot.

Once formatted, I lost all the thing. I will try again. Its driver is 100 mb and my computer speed is low. I will try and post in my next reply
Now when i plugged it auto detects the microsoft drivers for win 7 and i have no problem in other playbacks.
Would it not do any wrong, when i install realtek audio drivers for win 7 along with microsoft drivers. Pl
Samson:
Hi Jraju,
I don't see that the driver file size will affect your speed. When you had this problem before the Realtek driver sorted it. So I see no reason not to go for the same solution again. I do not know enough about drivers or Win 7 to really help, maybe wait for Shane's input?
But if you need any help with Audacity just ask

Hi, The problem is when i installed the realtek drivers, i got the warning to install the drivers from only reliable sources. I proceeded with the download and it asked me to restart. While restarting, it stays on welcome and not moved forward even after half an hour.
I tried to reboot but the same problem. Then i resorted to F8 and chosen command prompt and then rstrui.exe, and tried to restore. It could not restore, but some how, i got the normal windows back. So , I am posting . Should I have to uninstall the audio drivers that already I have. I did not find the realtek drivers. I checked with the properties in the mike icon in windows 7
