i got error in pre scan (solved)
mrkill:
yes i still get corrupted files , and i did a fresh install after i formatted my disk.
the chkdsk said that i need to reboot my computer and it took so long more than an hour so i left it till it is done and computer automatically started so i didnt see the results.
but i did chkdsk before i formatted my drrive and reinstalled windows , do i have to do it again ?
Shane:
If you would do it again that would be great, try doing it at a time where you dont need to be on the system, then once it is done doing the chkdsk the results will be in the event viewer and we can see if any bad sectors where found.

mrkill:
ckhdsk is not working and it cancels alone .
every time i run it , it display this:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) y
This volume will be checked the next time the system restarts.
C:\Windows\system32>
after i reboot my computer , it will say disk check has been cancelled even if i dont press any keyboard key. i tried it alot but it wont run . even i tried chkdisk /f too and no luck with it.
Boggin:
Why have you marked this thread as Solved when you still clearly have problems ?
If the chkdsk still cancels then give your keyboard a blow out with a can of compressed air as it could be sensing a key pressed if one is partially sticking.
Running a chkdsk without any parameters will give you the same info on bad sectors without the need for the volume to be dismounted and a reboot.
Shane:
Try this instead
chkdsk c: /r
I noticed you didnt tell it what drive letter to check.
