Errors found

The point I went back to previously it as far back as I can get to work. Trying to go back to one earlier than that fails.

Looks like the problem is in the winsxs folder, if that is the case then a repair install would be the best answer. Do you have the Windows setup disk by any chance?

Yes, I have the Windows setup discs. I'll try to get around to it tomorrow sometime.

Here is how to do a repair install, it is basically doing an upgrade to the same version

Looks like I'm back to square one with my sfc /scannow following the installation of the remaining WUs.
It's also now reporting files it cannot repair.
There's been more reported problems with WUs these last few months, you'd think MS would try harder to get it right.
