HELP! HELP! BIG PROBLEMS AFTER REPAIR !
sallyb:
OK, This is it! I got the black screen and then the BSOD while doing a simple email reply. Tried to restore to before the hotfix in safe mode...wouldn't do it. Tried to do it in regular mode...wouldn't do it...said my antivirus was blocking it...turned off the avast antivirus tried to restore to 05-29-15 and WOULDN'T DO IT...I'M IN DEEP DO DO AND JUST SINCE USING WR!!! If no one can help me, just say so...I will figure it out.
Boggin:
Sometimes just disabling an AV isn't sufficient to prevent it interfering with a restore action and you need to boot up into Safe Mode.
Prior to running WR you were asked to back up the registry - start WR again and use the registry restore option which should take you back to before all of this, except for the ole32.dll problem which you originally had.
You could try running BSV again to see if you are getting the same cause of the previous BSOD and it may also be worth going to the computer support site and re-downloading the drivers starting with the Chipset (if available), the video and then the audio drivers.
If all else fails and given what has already been tried, I think you should then consider a factory reset or repair install.

- I fear Windows Repair is/could be a bit too agressive. And I looking at the repair called "Repair Printer Spooler". I think it deletes too much files & drivers.
