(SOLVED)Windows update updates not installing

<< < (2/13) > >>

Julian:
I was reading your other post on the forum looks like boggin was the one who replied to you and asked for what the sfc scan results were. usually when reading that log you can see what it is that it's trying to fix but can't. okay so what i'm curious is have you done a chkdsk /f /r and reboot the computer then in the event viewer you should be able to find the scan results ill post a picture of the location in event viewer. what we want to make sure is no kb greater that 0 in the bad sector of your hdd.

Julian:
KB3035583 is windows 10 update app so you can get windows 10 and KB3065987 is an update for the windows update itself lol were you planning on upgrading to windows 10?

Tacotardis42:
Well I'm considering it, but I want to see a compatibility report first at least. It's annoying though because the windows 10 icon isn't there, even though I have a compatible OS, and I'm kinda hoping this update will fix that. And I will do a chkdsk scan, just as soon as the SFC is done.

Tacotardis42:
AArgh I ran the SFC and it said that files were corrupted again! The Windows Update must be corrupting them when it fails to install. I reran the repair from the other forum, and am rerunning the SFC. I sure hope this works now.

Tacotardis42:
Ok, I ran the checkdisk program and I managed to find the log, and it said 0kb in bad sectors so WOOT. Still, I am annoyed that Windows update still won't install those files aargh
