reboot safe password wrong

I downloaded the newest when the program advised and unzipped it. I thought it odd that it didn't install over the other, but ran the program instead. Anyway I clicked reboot to safe mode and when it opened at the login my password wouldn't work. I should've dumped this Windows 10,  I never use a password but Windows was pretty insistent during setup, now what?
