How to Block DNS requests so event viewer can be free of the errors?
Rick:
DNS Requests
connect.facebook.net
TIA
Boggin:
D'ya know Rick, there are occasions when I think I would have more success in doing the Times crossword than trying to decipher some of your queries :D
Can you put some meat on this one ?
Samson:
A stab in the dark.....
facebook is banned in China? pages with facebook links result in a failed DNS lookup (DNS prefetching), generating an error?
Try Fanboy's social annoyance list, available for Ublock Origin and AdblockPlus. Or, if you use Firefox, turn off DNS prefetching.
Off to solve the Times crossword puzzle now
Edit:
2 screenshots attached, see how all the annoying ads and social media content are blocked by uBlock Origin (Fanboy's annoyance list) and Ghostery.

Problem is;
something on my computer keep trying to open and access it...
Wonder what that could be?
Boggin:
I would boot up into Safe Mode with Networking and run a scan with the ESET Online Scanner.
http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
Click on Advanced and check all of the boxes except Archives and the Proxy one.
You may also want to check Task Scheduler to see if you have anything on there that is trying to phone home.
Restore points to prior this occurring could also help but see if ESET finds anything untoward.
