MSFT, Why system restore now has problems

(1/1)

Rick:
WIN7
Error message 0x80070005

you guys working overtime to prevent me from doing my work over here..
MSFT, are you sure you not working for some left wing group now trying to reduce our economy?

Boggin:
That is a general Access Denied error code.

Are you getting the error when trying to create a restore point or when you are trying to use a restore point ?

trying to use a restore point

and regarding the other thread; I think one stop solutions should be at hand... not one by one
to many people with the same problem Boggin

Boggin:
It's always been one thread - one person because a one stop solution can return a different error on some machines to others - so where does a helper go from there when there are additional problems to address.

Just because it looks like you have the same problem as someone else, you are free to follow the advice given to that OP without hijacking the thread - but if things take a different turn for you, then you will need to open your own thread and explain what you have done to date.

A restore point failing in a normal boot can be the result of an AV program blocking it, in which case, try the restore point again in Safe Mode.
