( Solved ) " Program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing "

(1/2) > >>

Jethro Bodine:
his message is typically caused by problems with C++ redistributables

This is a real head-scratcher !

System is W7 64-bit Home Premium on a Samsung RV511 laptop.

Everything else runs just peachy , apart from start-up on the odd few applications .

And yes , I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling those apps ... same story !

Strange thing is that after closing the warning dialog box the affected program(s) run just fine
....   so maybe the warning itself is a sort of FP ?

I've already tried the usual remedies including the excellent tutorial here :-

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/dll-error-troubleshooting.htm

sfc /scannow  reports no problems

Tweaking.com Windows Repair shows all is good .

It's not so much of a problem , more of an irritation really !

Has anybody got any suggestions , or had this problem themselves ?

All help and tips will be very much appreciated !

Many thanks.

Update: pl watch the program icon after the execution of the program. It will run but need some patch
Pl see this link , where the solution is given for another application. Pl download the apprpriate download. The link is

Jethro Bodine:
Many thanks for the reply jraju.

All the .NET stuff is installed and up-to-date.
Ironically , the very download from the link you gave will give the error on running it
http://www.steptoinstall.com/msvcr100-dll-is-missing-when-wamp-server-install.html

it points to here -
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523

Other app that give the error are IOBit Uninstaller .
I don't have "wamp" , as mentioned in your link , but it could well be a very similar issue.

jraju:
Hi, I was specific that it is not for your program , but to the Wamp. But, redistributable need some patch to be updated to not to show this error. Probably those are available as window updates. Did you update all updates?
pl see this link in concerning the 100dl missing section
authoring tool might fail due to missing msc   100 dl missing section

Jethro Bodine:

I uninstalled the 32-bit version ( vcredist_x86) then re-installed it using the download  from MS website
Too much focus on the 64 bit version on my part.

SOLVED

How do I mark the thread to show this ?

Thanks again for your help !
