Well I did some tests and homegroup kept working just fine after the repairs.

Any chance you can post the current permissions on the folder for me? I want to compare.

The folder i'm sharing has full control for "Everyone" and "Administrators", and the root drive has the same.

Before I got it working it didn't have the "Everyone" permission (and i couldn't even add that on the folder, i could only do that once i did it for the entire drive d:\)

What about "SYSTEM" permissions?

for the folder, the "everyone" user has read and execute, list, read
the wmpnetwork svc just has read,
every other account has everything
