How empty the recycle bin on the SINGLE partition?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Boggin:
Have you tried resetting the Recycle Bin with this cmd -

rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin

Then reboot.

Cleanmgr.exe may also clean it out for you.

Go Start - type cleanmgr then right click on it and select Run as administrator.

makinero:
Remove RECYCLE.BIN (SID)
No! NOT ERASE DATA!
How to access and copy the important files?
Files still exist, but no access.

Julian:
Nice some unknown sids you can use setacl to clear those out for you shoot I can't remember which command Shane said to input give me a few to research

makinero:
100% is possible to recover the data (eg. copying data).
I have had many similar situations and always successful.
Today I do not remember exactly just what settings (proper security settings)

Boggin:
That cmd is used when the Recycle Bin is corrupt so it has to remove it to reset it and the reboot will reinstate it.

I was under the impression from your thread that you were wanting to empty it ?

Go to Folder Options and unhide hidden folders and files then in XP I think it should be found in C:\Recycler but as I only have Win 7 I am unable to confirm that.
