Without going back through the thread, have you tried creating another admin account to see if you get the same problems ?

Not yet. I'm not sure how I installed Bitdefender and MBAM, for my account only or for everybody.

Boggin:
MBAM won't be a problem as you can always reinstall that - I can't remember if it has an all users option but AV programs protect the computer regardless of users as far as I know as that is what is licensed.
