Some text editors create temporary files ~file.ext (if, for example. Edits file) for the safety of the original file

It deletes all temp files unfortunately. So yeah those will go with it. Unless you can tell your text editor to assign a different location for temp files.

Or not check the option for remove temp files that's another option.
