How To Fix Side-By-Side Configuration Error Step By Step (Windows 7)

SFCFix 3.0

--- Code: ---Can not run the application because of its simultaneous configuration is incorrect.
--- End code ---

or maybe translate:

--- Code: ---"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect..."
--- End code ---

If ask: What caused it?
The error cause is when I Restored the Registry WR 3.9.1

Boggin:
SFCFix.exe has to be run immediately after a sfc /scannow for it to have something to work on.

Can you go into Event Viewer to see what is recorded as the Event ID No. for the side by side error as they can vary.

A side by side error can occur because another operation hasn't cleared.

Sometimes a cold boot to clear the memory as described in the WR pre-steps can resolve this.

Alternatively, boot up into the advanced boot options, select Repair your Computer and navigate to the Recovery Environment (RE) to select Command Prompt - noting where it locates the OS to repair.

At the cmd prompt enter c: (or the partition letter it located the OS)

Then fsutil resource setautoreset true %systemdrive% at the next prompt - press Enter.

Follow that with chkdsk x: /f where x is the partition letter to see what that reports then enter exit to close the cmd window and restart.

If you've already run a sfc /scannow then try SFCFix.exe again.

If that hasn't done it either then go back to the cmd prompt in the RE and enter - (changing c: if required)

c:

dism.exe /image:c:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions

exit

Then reboot.
