Blue Error Screen - PLEASE READ!!!
(1/1)
koolx:
a while back i couldnt start the service to avast. i then started a thread in the avast forum to find a solution. someone suggested i run, 'Windows Repair (all in one)'. i did as he suggested. but after running the prgram, i experienced blue screen errors. i then reformatted and restored a previous backup. but i still get blue screen errors. is it possible that the program couldve flashed my system badly, affecting my hard drive (even after restoring a backup on it) or other component of my laptop?
heres the link to my thread:

Software cant damage any hardware
It is possible some hardware has gone bad. But you need to find out first.
Have you ran a bad sector check on the drive yet? It will take a while but it will tell you if you have any bad sectors on the drive. :cheesy:
Also blue screens can easily be cause by bad memory. You can also run a memory check on the system. Microsoft has a free one you can use, burn the iso to a cd, boot off the cd and run the tester.

1 am for me, I am off to bed. Let me know how those tests turn out.
