Repair Icons & Recycler icon on desktop
Brama:
I have a Windows 10 x64 1607 completely updated and The Recycler icon is always the empty or full one and doesn't reflect the real state of Recycler.
I tried the Repair Icons function of AIO, but the issue remains.
I tried also to enable and disable the Recycle icon on desktop and repair them on the window attached, but no way.
Any idea to solve this issue?
Boggin:
I don't know how AIO repairs the icons for all versions of Windows as it is a bit different for Win 10 as this article explains -
http://www.howtogeek.com/232779/how-to-rebuild-a-broken-icon-cache-in-windows-10/
However, if you just want to repair the Recycle Bin then follow the steps in this article -

Willy2:
- Executing "12 - Repair Icons" only forces Windows to refresh the all the icons (including the icon of the Recycle Bin). But it won't empty the content of the Recycle Bin itself. That's what repair #34 is supposed to do.
- Do you have a folder called "c:\$Recycle.bin" ? Can you see that folder ? (Explorer doesn't show that folder. You'll need a different program to see that folder. E.g. "XYplorer") If you delete that folder then the Recycle Bin will also be emptied.
- But after some time Windows will re-create that folder + subfolders and will put one or more small files (called "desktop.ini") in it. Nothing to worry about.
- Yes, Windows has from time to time problems deleting all the files in the Recycle Bin. But repair #34 is supposed to solve that problem.
Boggin:
That's what the cmd in my second link does.
Willy2:
- Ooops. Missed that. But repair #34 goes a few steps further.
