[SOLVED] Systray customize link not working

(1/3) > >>

enduser:
I have a Windows 7 PC that will not allow you to customize the Systray icons. When you either right click on the task bar, select properties, then click on customize button on the new window, nothing happens when you do so. If you go to the Systray and click on the up arrow, then click on the blue link that says Customize... nothing happens also.

I have tried several fixes from the 7 forums but those are not working also. System restore does not work also. Can anyone offer any suggestions to get this function to work again?

Thanks.

I've never come across this problem but have you tried stopping and then restarting explorer.exe using Task Manager ?

enduser:
Yes I tried that also but no joy. I just noticed this same problem on a windows small business server 2011 that a friend of mine owns.

Boggin:
When you say system restore doesn't work - do you mean that you have taken it back or that your restore points are failing ?

If you haven't already, download the Windows Repair program, use Option 5 to create a registry back up then run Option 2 Pre-Scan to see if the Environment Variables are okay.

Willy2:
- Run Windows Repair and make sure you run repairs #4 (Register System files) & #19 only.
