(i'm a poor cheapskate using the FREE version of Windows Repair............also using a very crappy old PC..........and i'm a near total computer moron) :shy:

hi, i just did the repair today to fix choppy, jittery sounds on Youtube and Spotify (i noticed my CPU will spike to 100% very often)........it worked almost completely for Youtube but there's still some choppy music from Spotify..........

but the repair made certain windows and bars lose their colours..........this is especially so for Chrome.......also some websites (Facebook being one of them) will say ''Error'' before loading the page properly..........

is anything wrong ?.............what should and what can i do ?

Boggin:
I don't know why it did that but open the program, click on Option 5 - Restore under Registry Backup then under the Restore Registry tab use the dropdown to select the backup and then Restore now.

After the reboot go into Device Manager/Sound video and game controllers - right click on the audio and select Update driver software.

Click on the default search online to see if it can find a driver update.

What maintenance do you do on your machine regarding the temp files cache ?

many thanks for the reply :cheesy:.............but Spotify works fine now........so i think i can live with the lack of colours.........

you were suggesting that i restore the PC to the point before i did the repair, right ?

actually, i'm not too sure about what are temp files cache.............but i always use CCleaner daily.............

Boggin:
Yes, I was suggesting that you restore to before the repairs.

I also use CCleaner at the end of each session, but in Options/Advanced I have the box unchecked for Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 24hrs, although when you run CCleaner the next day, that should remove any residue.

Is Facebook still giving you that loading error ?

Event Viewer or reliability history may have something on that.

the Facebook will display a ''time-out'' message but then will load properly very quickly so it's ok...........

basically some websites are slow to load but it solved my jittery problems with youtube and spotify .............also my Java-based FX trading platform has some problems but no more horrid lagging..........so it's ok with me...........

i just have to live with the lack of colours on some websites........and also in certain message windows.........

i tried using Firefox and websites that used to have a black background ended up with a white one........ :artist:
