Repair 8 won't complete

Stonedbones:
All repairs ran ok except Repair 8 'Repair MDAC/MS Jet'. This ran for 10 hours with no progress. I am running in safe mode. I have run chkdsk with no reported problems. No other programs are running so nothing should interfere.
I tried running Repair 8 again this morning but still it hangs. The info box says

REPAIR RUNNING.......
Registering 132 Files......

CPU usage is zero.

Is this repair important or should I not worry about it? Any help will be much appreciated :-)

This has already been reported and is under investigation, but I'll pass on your complaint.

Which version of Windows are you using - if using Win 10, then to get the exact version, go Start - type winver and press enter.

I'd just like to say that it runs fine on my Win 10 laptops which are 1709 16299.192

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am running Windows version 1709.
I just ran Repair 8 again, but NOT in safe mode and it completed in under 2 minutes. It seems to have solved the problem for me - I hope you might find the information useful.
